Ever wonder why the "good guys" wear white and the "bad guys" wear black? Join professional costume designers Melissa Gilbert, Nelson Fields, or Tracy Barber in a conversation and Q&A about the process of designing costumes for theatrical productions.

From preliminary renderings to constructing the final garments for performance, learn how a costume gives insight into a character's identity and actions in a story. You'll never look at clothing in a play or film the same way again!

Before or after the presentation, visit the current exhibit Dressing the Character: The intersection of art and education in the College of Fine Arts Costume Studio, in the Library's Main Gallery, featuring designs by some of the guest speakers.
