This talk positions rap music as both a storytelling art and a key site of knowledge production in post-authoritarian Taiwan. Dr. Meredith Schweig (Emory University) is the author of Renegade Rhymes: Rap Music, Narrative, and Knowledge in Taiwan (University of Chicago Press 2022). Here, she will explore how artists' performance practices and pedagogical ambitions configure post-authoritarianism as a creative political intervention.
