Piano Studio Spring Concert "Making Music to Be Seen"
Piano Studio Spring Concert "Making Music to Be Seen"
Along with the beautiful music by Grieg, Schubert, Poulenc, Kalinnikov, Gillock, etc, the students will show their creative storytelling by showing the pictures they feel tell the same story as contained in the music they play. Each student has composed a personal story for each piece and then selected visual images which best represent the story.
Both graduate and undergraduate students take part in the concert.
The UK Piano Creativity Lab is proud to have several international and state competition winners. Our current and former students are winners of the Vancouver International Music Competition; Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition; Concert Artists International Competition; Liszt international Piano Competition; American Protégé International Competition; MTNA and KMTA Competitions as well as multiple UK’s Concerto Competition winners. To date, eleven of our students and graduates performed solo at Carnegie Hall.
While our students are primarily trained in piano performance, they also learn to use music, creativity and resourcefulness for mastering life challenges. These skills help them (and those they teach) to navigate the job market and much more.
The concert is free and open to the public.
