Fish Tank is an annual pitch competition featuring UK arts administration students who have bold ideas for a better future in the arts, and are ready to jump in the tank and share them with you. Part of Global Entrepreneurship Week and produced by theLAB, Fish Tank 2022 returns to Awesome, Inc in downtown Lexington.

Competitors will be judged on the feasibility and sustainability of their projects by esteemed business owners and arts professionals featuring Whit Whitaker, Executive Director of The Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center and UK alum; Winter Phong, fundraising, community arts practice and engagement, strategic planning, and market research expert and Assistant Professor of Arts Administration at UK; and Sal Sanchez, business strategy and leadership consultant and owner of Cup of Commonwealth, Chocolate Holler, and Magic Beans Coffee Roasters.

Awesome, Inc Fellowship Director and UK Arts Administration Entrepreneur in Residence, Keith McMunn, will serve as the emcee.

Back by popular demand, there will be an audience choice winner (of bragging rights) again this year. Register for your free ticket now so you can vote for your favorite pitch!

This event would not be possible without the generous support of University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts, the UK Department of Arts Administration, and UK's Gaines Center for the Humanities.

Founded in 1984 by a generous gift from John and Joan Gaines, the Gaines Center for the Humanities functions as a laboratory for imaginative and innovative education on the University of Kentucky's campus. Devoted to cultivating an appreciation of the humanities in its students and faculty, the center embraces varied paths of knowledge and particularly strives to integrate creative work with traditional academic learning.
