Explore Appalachian and traditional music through an experimental lens with the Magic Tuber Stringband. MTSB is a Durham NC-based duo, made up of Evan Morgan and Courtney Werner. Their primary instruments are guitar and fiddle, but they are not married to these particular axes and follow their instincts when they feel other instruments are called for. For this performance the MTSB is joined by Crowmeat Bob on reeds and Mike DeVito on upright bass.

Opening set by guitarist Austin Cash. Of Cash's brand new album, "Hello, Franklin," Garhole Records writes:
"Its closest analogs are perhaps the solo guitar compositions of John Fahey and progenitors and substantiators of the American Primitive style. However, while Cash’s works do well to carry the legacy of the genre’s harmonic and melodic richness and sheer transcendental power, rarely do we see such intensity and jaggedness in the feelings those pieces portray. On Hello, Franklin, Cash delivers equal parts despair and elation, fixing teeth to a genre-space defined by drony bliss and whispered meditations."
