Exhibiting artist Faisal Abdu’Allah discusses his use of photography and the relationship between barbering and Black identity.

Abdu’Allah studied in London at the Royal College of Art and is currently the Chazen Family Distinguished Chair in Art and Professor of Printmaking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the recipient of a Joan Mitchell Fellowship, First Prize at the Tallinn Print Triennial, and a Decibel Visual Artist Award. Dark Matter, a survey of his work, was recently exhibited at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art.
