Open to grades 6-8.

Calling all budding artist-curators! For one special week this summer, we’re clearing our ground floor galleries for museum-curious middle schoolers to get hands-on with the exhibition creation process from brainstorm to opening reception. Campers will go behind the scenes and discover the secrets of the UK Art Museum’s collection, collaborate with peers to design exhibition layouts, coordinate with Museum staff in a variety of roles, and ultimately put on a showcase in our galleries for family and friends. Other activities include creating original sculptures for a “cabinet of curiosities,” crafting artwork miniatures for maquettes, and staging personalized portrait photos. 

Please note there is NO CAMP Wednesday, June 19, the University of Kentucky is closed observance of Juneteenth.* 

Camp Hours: 1 pm – 5 pm
Pickup: 5 pm – 5:30 pm
