Dr. Ben Arnold has agreed to begin service on July 1, 2025, for a four-year term as Director of the School of Music to conclude on June 30, 2029.
Dr. Ben Arnold has agreed to begin service on July 1, 2025, for a four-year term, pending Board of Trustees approval, as Director of the School of Music to conclude on June 30, 2029. Arnold’s selection follows an internal search, including the School of Music Executive Committee and a faculty-wide survey.
The Director of the School of Music is its chief administrative officer and provides leadership and management through mission-based, College and University-led strategic planning and assessment. Reporting to the Dean and serving on the Dean’s Leadership Team, the Director may also serve on other committees at the request of the Dean or other University officials. Additionally, the Director may teach and engage in research/creative activities as required.
Previously, Dr. Arnold served as the Director of the School of Music from 2003 to 2012 and as Acting Chair of the UK Department of Theatre and Dance (2022-2023).
