Elizabeth (Beth) L. Wilson, DMA, sought after conductor-educator, is Lecturer in Choral Music for the University of Kentucky. The 2025-2026 academic year marks Dr. Wilson’s eleventh year as conductor of the SATB choir, UK Choristers. Choristers is currently the largest choir on campus with 115 members, and is the oldest performing ensemble at UK, and was recently featured as a performing choir at Kentucky Music Educators Association Conference in both 2021 and 2022. In addition to Choristers, Dr. Wilson teaches courses in conducting and choral music education methods, oversees student teachers, and serves as faculty advisor for Blue Note and the ACDA student chapter. Dr. Wilson’s philosophy of using choral music to foster human connection through a community of excellence has translated to years of invitations as honor choir conductor, interest session presenter, clinician, and adjudicator - recently as featured conductor at Carnegie Hall in April 2024.
Dr. Wilson is concurrently the Director of Music & Worship at Frankfort First United Methodist Church and Vice President of Kentucky ACDA. Previously, Beth has served as Choir Director at Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church, Conductor of Youth Choir/Clinician at Montreat Worship & Music Conference, Conductor of Georgia Tech Women’s Choir, Director of Student Musician Development for Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, as well as a choral music educator at both Pope and Wheeler High Schools in Cobb County, GA for nine years. Dr. Wilson’s secondary choirs were featured ensembles at music conferences and invitational events, performing throughout the country. In addition to her current ACDA role, Beth is the most recent Past President of KYACDA; prior, she served as KYACDA College/University R&R Chair, GAACDA Treasurer, and twice on Southern Region Conference Planning Committees. Beth was honored to be named KMEA 2020-2021 District 7 College/University Teacher of the Year. Dr. Wilson earned the DMA in choral conducting from University of Kentucky, MM in choral conducting from Georgia State University, and BM in music education from University of Georgia.
Beth happily resides in Lexington with her husband - Ken, their children - Drew and Anna, and their dogs - Coco and Daisy.
