Fulton's research centers on Anglo- and German-American hymnody during the first half of the nineteenth century, including aspects of space and place, performance practice, book history and bibliography, and lived religion.

Their current research focuses on the timbral and instrumental devices used to depict youth and masculinity in Japanese Cyberpunk media. Their secondary research areas include early modern women composers and the baroque trumpet.

Samantha’s research brings an ethnographic and organological approach to the study of living American-music practices with specific focus on the American Fife and Drum tradition. Secondary areas include women in percussion, world music, and semiotics.

Lydia’s research interests include intersections of mythology with art song and opera with a focus on musical expressions of the monstrous feminine. Most recently, she has been exploring the musical syntax and iconography associated with historical witchcraft.

Zhicheng's research focusing on Eastern Guangdong operatic music of China and traditional Korean‑ethnic music: exploring the interdependent relationship between music and cultural policy, as well as the creative deconstruction of tradition.

Christian’s research focuses on the intersection between the epistemology of antiquity and the Christian intellectual tradition. Through exploring early European views of truth, he hopes to uncover motivations of Renaissance and Baroque art music influenced by these antique and Christian aesthetics.

Kristen’s research involves music aesthetics, world flutes, mythology and folklore in instrumental music, and the interdisciplinary aspects of art and music, Gustav Holst, and the role of Pan in early opera.
