Digital Media and Design Senior Wins National Design Awards at MediaFest25
School of Art and Visual Studies senior Ashleigh Jones, a Digital Media Design major from Spencer County, Kentucky, recently earned multiple national awards for her outstanding design work at MediaFest25 in Washington, D.C.
Hosted by the College Media Association, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP), MediaFest25 celebrates excellence in collegiate journalism and media production, drawing thousands of entries from across the country.
Jones’ award-winning designs were recognized across both the Kentucky Kernel and KRNL Lifestyle + Fashion magazines. Her honors include:
- ACP Pacemaker: KRNL Lifestyle + Fashion – First Place, Magazine Page/Spread
- Pinnacle Award: Kentucky Kernel – Second Place, Yearbook Spread
- Pinnacle Award: KRNL Lifestyle + Fashion – Second Place, Magazine Spread
- ACP Pacemaker: KRNL Lifestyle + Fashion – Honorable Mention, Yearbook Page/Spread
- CP Pacemaker: Kentucky Kernel – Tenth Place, Yearbook Design
In addition, KRNL Lifestyle + Fashion earned the Pinnacle First Place Feature Magazine of the Year for its Spring 2025 issue.
“It was such an incredible experience to see the work of student designers and journalists from across the nation,” Jones said. “To have my work recognized on that level was truly an honor.”
