From Keeneland to the Rail: UK career fair brings arts and entertainment employers to campus
The University of Kentucky Department of Arts Administration will host its annual Arts and Culture Career Fair 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the Gatton Student Center, Grand Ballroom A (160 Avenue of Champions). This year's fair also reflects the department's expansion into music industry education with the launch of the new Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry in fall 2026. The degree prepares students for careers in artist management, live entertainment, music production, marketing and other areas of the music business.
All UK students can participate. Registrants will have the opportunity to network with potential employers, including The Rail Live Music & Entertainment, Keeneland Library, The Vine at Chenault Vineyards, The Living Arts & Science Center, Kentucky Arts Council and Lexington Philharmonic.
“With the launch of our new Music Industry major and our growing relationships with music venues and entertainment organizations, we are expanding the professional pathways available to our students. ” said Professor Rachel Shane, Ph.D., Gary B. Knapp Endowed Chair of Arts Administration. The Arts and Culture Career Fair brings those connections directly to campus, giving students opportunities to explore careers, meet industry professionals, and identify potential internships and employment opportunities.”
Students can meet and engage with leaders in the industry, explore career and internship opportunities, and gain valuable insights into how to build sustainable, fulfilling careers in arts and culture after graduation.
The Arts and Culture Career Fair is part of the department’s broader commitment to workplace development and fostering lasting connections between the academic community and the professional arts world. The dress code is business attire, and participants are asked to bring printed copies of their resume.
Students can register to attend online for free.
