Save the Date: UK Arts and Health Symposium Set for Oct. 2

LEXINGTON, KY, Sept. 21, 2026 — The University of Kentucky Arts and Health Alliance and Creative Link for Advancing Digital Health will host its second UK Arts and Health Symposium on Friday, Oct. 2, bringing together an interdisciplinary network of faculty, staff, and students advancing arts and health across the UK community for a full day of workshops, presentations, and networking. The symposium will spotlight examples of successful arts-and-health collaborations, creative outcomes focused on health, funded projects, and ongoing commercialization efforts.
 

The event builds on momentum from a March 27 gathering, Intersections of Arts & Health: A Research/Creative Activity Symposium, which brought faculty, researchers, and practitioners from across UK’s campus and beyond to the Art and Visual Studies Building for a day of presentations spanning medicine, design, engineering, social work and international partners from the University of Porto in Portugal. October's symposium builds on that momentum with an expanded, full-day program. 
 

The day is open to members and the public and will include two tracks: 

For Arts Researchers: 

• 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.: Breakfast and workshops, School of Art and Visual Studies Building 

For Arts and Health Researchers: 

• 11:30 a.m.: Lunch and networking 

• 12:30 – 3:45 p.m.: Presentations, School of Art and Visual Studies Building 

• 4:15 – 5:15 p.m.: Gallery reception in the new Biology Art Gallery and Room 116, T.H. Morgan Building 

Uniting arts and health professionals, the Alliance fosters collaboration that integrates creative practice with rigorous research, strengthening individuals and communities across Kentucky, the U.S., and international locations.
