Yoon Bae is an award winning Scenic and Costume Designer and recently appointed Assistant Professor of Scenic Design in the College of Fine Arts, University of Kentucky. Her design work has shown internationally from United-Kingdom and U.S.A. to South Korea.

Prior to University of Kentucky, she was Visiting Professor of Scenic Design at Oklahoma City University and visiting lecture at University of Arizona. In the United Kingdom, she taught at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Rose Bruford College in London.

International highlights include Don Giovanni at Welsh National Opera, Bernstein’s Candide at the Imperial Theatre, in Tokyo (both directed by John Caird), Three Thousand Troubled Threads for Edinburgh International Festival, The Full Monty and Closer in Seoul, Running the Silk Road at the Barbican Theatre in London, Picasso’s Women for London's West End (starring Jerry Hall & Susannah York). Yoon has worked closely with John Napier including Trevor Nunn’s Gone with the Wind (Gillian Lynne Theatre (formally The New London), West End), Birdsong (Harold Pinter Theatre, London West End), Skellig (The Young Vic, West End) and Equus (The Gielgud Theatre, London West End, starring Daniel Radcliffe).

Yoon studied Scenic and Costume Design at Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London and has a Master of Arts in Fine Art from the Slade School of Fine Art at University College London.

She is a contributor to Scenography by the Crowood Theatre Press Ltd. 2018, a member of United Scenic Artists Local USA 829, and a member of the Society of British Theatre Designers and British Equity.
