Originally from Ohio, Lisa received her MFA from Kent State University. There she spent eight years designing costumes and makeup for children’s theatre and theatre for young audiences. Over the years she has worked with several summer stock programs, community theatres and universities as a Costume Designer, First Hand, Draper, Assistant, and technician.
Her experience teaching introductory sewing, makeup, and design process on an undergraduate level has fueled a love for teaching and working with students as they explore what is possible with clothing.
Lisa’s area of expertise focuses on fabric manipulation and creation with an emphasis on historical techniques. Continuing research is very important to her as she maintains several personal research projects in her spare time.
