Kate has taught art history at the University of Kentucky since 1999, and currently as Senior Lecturer in Art History & Visual Studies. She teaches both the 'World Art Before 1400' and the 'Renaissance to Modern' art history survey courses, and the occasional Renaissance course. Kate's area of interest focuses on Roman Imperial art history. Her thesis, Augustan Ideologies of Greek and Roman: Vitruvius on Theater Buildings, addresses Vitruvian labels of “Greek” and “Roman” in relation to theater types and their place in the larger Augustan Age cultural renewal. Kate also currently serves as Area Head for Art History in the School of Art & Visual Studies.
