Krzysztof Wodiczko, born 1943 in Warsaw, Poland, lives and works in New York City, Cambridge, Massachusetts and Warsaw, Poland. He is renowned for his large-scale projections on architectural facades, and monuments. He has realized more than 90 of such projections in 20 countries.

Krzysztof Wodiczko, a former director of MIT’s Center for Advanced Visual Studies MIT is Professor of Art, Design and the Public Domain, Emeritus at Harvard Graduate School of Design. He also holds a position of Visiting Professor at Media Arts Department of Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Historic Preservation Program Columbia University.

Krzysztof Wodiczko work has been exhibited at may biennials, triennials, art festivals and international exhibitions including Documenta, Venice Biennale (Canadian and Polish pavilions), Whitney Biennial, and Liverpool Biennale. Among his awards and recognitions, he received the 4th Hiroshima Art Price "for the contribution as an international artist to the world peace”. His works are in many public collections including the Hirschhorn Museum, New York MoMa, National Gallery of Poland, Centre Pompidou, and Walker Art Center.

Krzysztof Wodiczko received a PhD in industrial design from Warsaw’s Academy of Fine Arts and is an author of many books and publications.

His work is being presented as a part of PBS television series Art in the Twenty-First Century, and in Art 21 Extended Play. A film Krzysztof Wodiczko; Art of Un-War directed by Maria Niro has been released in 2022.
