A film by Peter Stone, associate professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance, won the Committee's Choice Award at the Newark Independent Film Festival in Delaware this August.
The Festival featured 49 films of all genres during a two-day event on Aug. 9 and 10. In Stone's short film, "Va Bene Cosi," a woman visits Italy in an attempt to heal after a failed relationship. Stone wrote and directed the film in Florence, Italy. All 49 films were eligible for the committee's choice award.
"We were thrilled that our film, 'Va Bene Cosi,' won the Committee's Choice Award at the Newark Independent Film Festival," Stone said. "Making a film takes many highly skilled artists, and it was an honor to have my team recognized. This is a big step for our production company, Bicicletta Films, and we look forward to shooting our new film this year!"
