Zachary Marschall

Zach is a writer and editor with arts criticism most recently appearing in The New Criterion and The American Spectator.

He served as publications manager at International Arts & Artists, a nonprofit organization that serves small-to-mid-sized art museums in the United States and abroad, for which he edited and published Cultural Encounters: Art of the Asian diaspora in Latin America & the Caribbean, 1945- Present and Bernini and the Roman Baroque: Paintings from Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia. 

Zach was also editor of the book Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper (Scala Arts Publishers, Inc., 2021) and co-launched the peer-reviewed journal Arts & International Affairs in 2015 as the publication's inaugural managing editor. 

He also held publishing and program development roles at the Policy Studies Organization in Washington, DC, and served in 2017 as coordinator for the Global Cultural Fellows Program at the University of Edinburgh's Institute for International Cultural Relations.

Zach obtained a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies from George Mason University. He also holds an M.A. in Arts Journalism from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and a B.A. from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
