Peter Allen Stone
Peter Allen Stone is an actor, director, writer, and teacher. He began his career in Los Angeles, and he has worked extensively in New York City in film, television, and theatre. In the theatre he has performed regionally and off-Broadway.
He is currently Assistant Professor of Theatre at University of Kentucky and was the former Chair of Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy in New York City. In 2017, Mr. Stone launched NYFA’s new campus in Mumbai, India, and he has taught with the academy in Florence, Italy for ten years. He has been a guest instructor at Dongguk University in Seoul, Korea, Universitat Heidelberg, Germany, and at NABA University in Milan, Italy (Matter of Identity Conference).
New York and Regional Theater acting credits include: Strangers (Ontological); The Proust Project (with Michael Stuhlbarg at CSC); Much Ado About Nothing (Portland Stage Company); A Christmas Carol, Female Transport, and Once in a Lifetime (American Conservatory Theater); Wit and Little Shop of Horrors (Actor’s Theatre of Louisville); Rebecca Gilman’s Capitalsim 101 (25th Humana Festival); Sarah Ruhl’s Virtual Meditation #1 (26th Humana Festival); Barefoot in the Park (Loessin Theater, NC); Site-Seeing (NYC Fringe and DC Capital Fringe); Woyzeck (Riverside Theater); Waiting for Lefty, and Ivanov (Shapiro Theater directed by Tony Speciale).
Film and Television credits include: One Life to Live, As the World Turns, All My Children, The Guiding Light, Florence in Love, Loofo, Saved by the Bell: The New Class, and numerous commercials.
As a playwright, Mr. Stone co-wrote the critically acclaimed play Unnatural Acts, which premiered at Classic Stage Company in New York City in 2011. For his efforts on Unnatural Acts he received a 2012 Drama Desk Award Nomination for Outstanding Play, G.L.A.A.D. Media Award Nomination, Off-Broadway Alliance Award Nomination, and an Honorable Mention for Top 10 Plays of 2011 by The Advocate. His new play, Everygirl, will premiere in January of 2019 at Kallio School of Performing Arts in Helsinki, Finland.
Mr. Stone was a Casting Assistant at Mackey Sandrich Casting in New York, where he assisted on the casting for The Green Zone, and The Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon, The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, and The Good Guy with Bryan Greenberg.
Many of his former students have appeared on Broadway (The Lion King, Motown the Musical, Mean Girls), Off-Broadway (Atlantic Theatre Company), Film (Life of Pi, Death Note, King Cobra, Rampage, The Equalizer II, Jamesy Boy, Men in Black III, Unbroken, Somewhere in the Middle), Television (Modern Family, The People V. O.J. Simpson: A Crime Story, Law and Order/SVU, The Blacklist, Power Rangers Megaforce, Blue Bloods, Blindspot, Person of Interest, Sneaky Pete), and numerous commercials.
Mr. Stone received his MFA in Acting for the prestigious American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, is a founding member of Plastic Theatre Company in NYC, and a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA.
