Kelly Hamilton is an Instructional Designer for the College of Fine Arts at the University of Kentucky. In her role, she collaborates with faculty and administrators to design and develop instructional materials for online courses. She applies quality assurance processes and maintains courses within the learning management system (Canvas). Kelly is proficient in Adobe tools such as Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, and Captivate, as well as Google Suite apps, Microsoft products, and others.
Immediately before joining the university, Kelly worked with the Council on Licensure, Enforcement, and Regulation (CLEAR) as an instructional designer and online course facilitator. In that capacity, she collaborated with subject matter experts to create training programs for regulatory professionals. Her other career experience is varied and eclectic, including tenures at Deloitte Consulting, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass©, and KET (the local PBS television station). These experiences revealed her proficiency in explaining processes and developed her interest in instructional design. She's happy to discuss the full extent of her career over coffee or lunch.
Kelly holds a master’s degree in Instructional Design and Development from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Arts in History, with minors in English Literature and Medieval Studies, from Miami University in Ohio. She strongly advocates for lifelong learning, having completed several professional development programs, including the University of Kentucky Center for the Enhancement of Learning & Teaching's Staff UDL Boot Camp, after which she earned her CAST UDL Credential 1: Mindset. She also has a Certificate from the Workday Basics Series Course and various courses through Coursera.
