Film Screening: Golub: Late Works are the Catastrophes 

This 2004 documentary, directed by Gordon Quinn and Jerry Blumenthal, takes us inside the studio of Leon Golub (and his wife, feminist artist Nancy Spero) and looks at Golub’s socio-political interests and idiosyncratic working procedures. The film’s title refers to Theodore Adorno’s 1937 essay, “Late Style in Beethoven,” and his proclamation that, "In the history of art, late works are the catastrophes."
