Welcome to the College of Fine Arts
The arts are essential. We treat them that way.
The University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts offers more than 40 degree programs, including offerings you won't find elsewhere: Kentucky's only graduate program in music therapy, with clinical training at UK HealthCare; the nation's first fully online PhD in Arts Administration; and an MFA in Curatorial Studies that puts students to work in real exhibition spaces from day one.
Behind the College's innovative research, grants, and events is a monumental institutional commitment to the arts. A $150 million gift from The Bill Gatton Foundation - the largest in the history of the University - is funding a home for it all: a reimagined arts district anchored by a new College of Fine Arts building. The future of the arts is being built right now.
Mission: The College of Fine Arts declares that the arts are essential to the life of the individual and the community. We express our commitment to the arts through dedication to teaching, scholarly research, artistic experimentation, performance, outreach, and exhibition.

A Transformational Gift to the Arts
The Bill Gatton Foundation’s $150 million gift — one of the largest in UK’s history — will create a new home for the arts at the University of Kentucky. The project includes a new College of Fine Arts building, a modern performance theater, and public greenspace that will anchor a growing arts and innovation corridor along South Broadway.
