Visiting Assistant Professor of Acting

The University of Kentucky Department of Theatre and Dance seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Acting beginning August 2021. The position has a possibility of renewal the following year. Our program is NAST accredited with a robust production season of five main stage productions including a musical and annual dance concert, as well as an active student-produced studio season. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include teaching foundational and advanced acting classes for majors. Other responsibilities may include the following:
• Teaching courses such as Black Theatre Workshop and/or Social Action Theatre
• Coaching student actors for audition preparation
• Directing in the main stage season

There is also an expectation of research and/or creative work, service, and mentoring, consistent with the rank of assistant professor at a Research l institution. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to teach B.A. undergraduate students in a liberal arts context and strong ties to the profession.
