Tracy Barber-Ward

Originally from Michigan, Tracy is an accomplished designer and costume technician who has worked for companies of every shape and size, including The Washington National Opera, The Shakespeare Theatre in DC, the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in California, and Le Reve at Wynn Las Vegas, where she was a member of the installation team. Ultimately, she found a perfect professional match in the role of Costume Director, where she gets to blend her love of balanced budgets, labor management and spreadsheets with the organic creativity of costuming. After becoming a mother in 2016 Tracy realized that parents, particularly women, were deeply underserved in our industry so in 2017 she began advocating for conditions that allow theatre artists to better balance family and professional responsibilities. She is also a proud member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians and works to end Indigenous Invisibility in the performing arts.
