Professionally, Aaron Chvatal has designed opera, musicals, and plays around the country. Recent design credits include Mayo (World Premiere – Crane School of Music), Cosi fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, Don Pasquale, Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica (Opera on the James), Suor Angelica (Marble City Opera), Marie & Rosetta, The Agitators (Park Square Theatre), A Crack in the Sky (World Premiere – History Theatre), Candide (Theatre Latte Da), Detroit ’67 (Penumbra Theatre Company).
Aaron spent 4 seasons at the Castleton Opera Festival, two as Costume Shop Manager, where he also designed a new production of Our Town. During his two seasons as Costume Shop Manager and Designer at the Brevard Music Center, he designed Don Pasquale with director David Gately, Street Scene, the World Premiere of Falling Angel, and co-designed The Magic Flute and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Aaron is currently a Costume Director at the Seagle Music Colony.
Originally from Nebraska, Aaron earned his Bachelor’s of Arts from Hamline University, and his Master’s of Fine Arts in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
