Aliciona Strothers directs a wonderful cast in this bold and original work. The performance lasts 15 minutes.

Finding your Mind tells the story of a young woman who has gone through the trials of the psychiatric system and lived to tell the tale. She is looking back on herself as a young girl. Specifically the first time she entered a psychiatric hospital. Like most mentally ill adults who have been in the system for many years, the woman has regrets about her attitude as a young patient and ultimately just wishes she could’ve prepared herself as a girl then for what she knows now. This play explores the “what if” of talking to your young self and what that desire looks like for a mentally ill woman about to be committed for the third time in her life.
