Dixie Swim Club
Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, & Jamie Wooten.  Directed by Hallie Brinkerhoff.
The Dixie Swim Club is the story of five Southern women whose friendships began on their college swim team. Over a thirty-three year span, free from husbands, kids and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. The Dixie Swim Club is the story of these unforgettable women—a hilarious and touching comedy about friendships that last forever.
September 15–October 2, 2016

Whodunnit, Darling?
Written by Charles Edward Pogue and Larry Drake.  Directed by Julieanne Pogue
“A matter of life and death!” reads the telegram that urgently summons Damocles Cole, gentleman sleuth, to a dude ranch. It was death … and Dam’s ex-wife, Daphne, sent the message. Reminiscent of the wisecracks and witty repartee of The Thin Man films, Whodunnit, Darling? premiered at Studio Players in 1983.
November 10–27, 2016

Stop Kiss

Written by Diana Son.  Directed by Adanma O. Barton
“A poignant and funny play about the ways, both sudden and slow, that lives can change irrevocably,” says Variety. After Callie meets Sara, the two unexpectedly fall in love. Their first kiss provokes a violent attack that transforms their lives in a way they could never anticipate. Stop Kiss is a contemporary play about relationships and abiding love. Adult themes.
January 12–29, 2017

The Gingerbread Lady
Written by Neil Simon. Directed by Gary McCormick
Maureen Stapleton won Broadway’s Tony Award as Best Actress for the role of Evy Meara, a popular singer who has hit the skids. Friends and family try to help her adjust to sobriety with comic results. The play was rewritten by Neil Simon as the film Only When I Laugh, starring Marsha Mason.

March 9–26, 2017

The Fox on the Fairway
Written by Ken Ludwig.  Directed by Jason Meenach.
A tribute from Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, The Fox On the Fairway takes audiences on a hilarious romp, which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. It’s a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers’ classics and a charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man’s eternal love affair with... golf.
