Aly Norton

INTERESTS: Art Preservation, Music History, Film Studies, French Culture

Aly has been a huge fan of music and visual arts since she was a kid, and has always known she wanted to have a career in the arts as an adult. In addition to her passion for art history, she has a background in musical performance. As an alumna of Madison Central High School, she played the clarinet and served as a field commander for the marching band program. While performance isn't something she's pursuing in college, she will always have a soft spot for the marching arts. Aly has been a member of the Creative Arts Living and Learning Program, Student Organization for Art History, and greek life during her undergraduate career, and intends on becoming a volunteer at UK's college radio station (check out WRFL at 88.1 fm!). After graduation, she plans to travel abroad to work in art preservation and continue her education. Outside of school you can find Aly working at the bookstore, hanging out with her friends, watching a movie at the student center, perusing galleries, listening to music, visiting thrift stores, decorating her apartment, tending to her houseplants, coddling her dog, or playing video games on her Nintendo.

REASON FOR BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR

I know what it's like to have apprehensions about going to college, especially as a member of the College of Fine Arts, and I'd love to share my experiences to help both current and prospective CFA students. I want to show people the love that I feel from other members of the College, and demonstrate the amazing opportunities UK's fine arts community has to offer.
