3rd Annual SOFAH Symposium: Art & Commerce

The Student Organization for Art History (SOFAH) at the University of Kentucky School of Art and Visual Studies will present undergraduate and graduate research at the 3rd Annual Art History and Visual Studies Symposium. The event, titled “Art and Commerce,” welcomes research-based papers in any period or culture that examines fine art, design, mass media, popular culture, and/or the art market. Topics might include (but are not limited to) representations of commerce in visual and material culture as well as the roles of commercial technologies, markets, or patronage in shaping art and design. Each presenter will give a PowerPoint presentation of maximum 20 minutes. If possible, the symposium will take place at the Bolivar Art Gallery, with the option of presenting remotely via Zoom.
