CFA community sews masks for those in need
As of this July, the College of Fine Arts Sew-at-Home Network of faculty, staff, students, and parents, have made and given to healthcare workers and vulnerable populations 2,044 masks!
Organized by SA/VS faculty Rae Goodwin and Crystal Gregory in March, the sew-at-home network has been donating their time and materials, with support from the College of Fine Arts, to provide PPE for UK Healthcare. Masks have also been donated to several local organizations including Homestead Post Acute, Ballard-Griffith Towers Senior Housing Center, Ampersand, The Refuge for Women, and UK Pediatric Therapy Center.
"It is such a joy to read this news," said CFA associate dean Beth Arnold. "In a time of uncertainty, it is good for the soul to read about the number of people who have generously given of their time to help others."
