INTERESTS: Violin performance

Hi everyone! I have been playing the violin for 12 years and I can’t imagine my life without music. It has shaped my life in so many ways, and I am passionate about sharing the same joy the arts have brought me with everyone I meet! In high school, I started playing with a string orchestra that really solidified my wish to pursue a career in the fine arts. We performed around the Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area and competed nationally in cities like St. Louis, Chicago, and Orlando. Coming to UK was a great choice for me! I have really enjoyed playing with the UK Symphony Orchestra, and have even started a violin, cello, and piano trio. I love being in chamber ensembles and making music with others, so starting that trio is something that I’m really proud of. And that is all thanks to the amazing friends I have made at the College of Fine Arts! I’m also interested in all of the behind-the-scenes work that it takes to run a professional orchestra. After graduating, I want to pursue a marketing position with an orchestra while still performing with small groups on the side, although who knows what the future holds! When I’m not practicing violin, you can fine me playing piano and ukulele, drinking coffee, drawing, dancing, and going to UK basketball games!

I wanted to become a CFA Student Ambassador because the College of Fine Arts is like a second home to me! Coming from a small, private school with a graduating class of around 150 students, the idea of attending a large university made me a little nervous. But from the moment I toured the College of Fine Arts, my worries were washed away with an overwhelming sense that I belonged here. The atmosphere is so special and welcoming. I want incoming students to feel like they truly belong here too! Additionally, I never want to take my education for granted. I want to give back to this college for all they have done for me in such a short time. The College of Fine Arts has given me a community inside a large, unique university in which I can thrive doing what I love with people I love.
