Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Viola and String Education
The School of Music seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Viola and String Education to begin August 2019. This new hire will lead efforts to recruit undergraduate and graduate viola students and will teach all graduate viola students, as well as a number of undergraduate viola majors identified in consultation with other string faculty members. Half of this position’s annual teaching load will be studio-based instruction. The successful candidate will also lead the UK String Project, including teaching and supervising UK student teachers and liaising with area string teachers in primary and secondary schools, and will work with music education faculty to provide additional opportunities for specialized training in string education.
