UK Symphony Band & UK Concert Band: A Fall Festival

The UK Concert Band and UK Symphony Band join forces to present a concert on Sunday, November 17 at 3:00 pm in the SCFA Concert Hall.

The Concert Band will open the concert and perform band music such as Shine by Michael Markowski, Autumn Air by  Nicole Piunno, Strange Humors by John Mackey, and Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo by Malcolm Arnold.

Following a brief intermission, the Symphony Band, under the direction of Professor George Boulden, will take the stage to perform ZING! by Scott McAllister, Letter from Home by British composer Philip Sparke, Commando March by renowned American composer Samuel Barber, Ballad for Band by Morton Gould, and will close the program with Satoshi Yagisawa’s exciting programmatic work, Perseus.

Professor Boulden will be joined on stage by Dr. Michael Hudson, Associate Professor of Music Education at the University of Kentucky, and UK doctoral candidate Brent Johnson.
