This recital will be a collaborative performance with soprano, Makeda Hampton, an ensemble of UKY instrumentalists, pianist, Cliff Jackson. The performance will capture the beauty and essence of music from the U.S.A., Russia, and Austria through the works of Andre Previn, Reinhold Gliere, and Johann Strauss.

Honey and Rue (1992) is a composition for soprano, orchestra, and jazz combo.
This song cycle is a beautiful work of six poems that takes advantage of the
strengths Toni Morrison’s evocative poetry and Andre Previn’s wide range
of musical styles.
Concerto for Coloratura Soprano and Orchestra in F minor, Op. 82 (Reinhold
Gliere's Concerto for Coloratura Soprano and Orchestra in F minor Op.82 ,
composed in 1943, is an innovative work that features the soprano as the main
instrument, but without words. Divided in two movements, the first Andante is
filled with melancholy while the Allegro is light, warm and fast paced.
