Colin Carr Masterclass

Colin Carr appears throughout the world as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, and teacher. He has played with major orchestras worldwide, including the Royal Concertgebouw Or-chestra, The Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, the orchestras of Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, Philadelphia, Montréal and all the major orchestras of Australia and New Zealand. Conductors with whom he has worked include Rattle, Gergiev, Dutoit, Elder, Skrowasczewski and Marriner. He has been a regular guest at the BBC Proms and has twice toured Australia.

For several days the Museum becomes a printmaking and publishing studio, giving visitors the chance to use a small proofing press and a Risograph machine. Museum staff and faculty from UK’s School of Art & Visual Studies will serve as guides, and all materials will be provided. This is a rare opportunity to make unique works on paper, posters, and books.

Open Studio 2018

Open Studio is an annual event organized by the Art Graduate Student Association of UK's School of Art & Visual Studies. During the event, the MFAs and BFAs have their studios open for viewing by the public. One of the highlights of the event is the Carey Ellis juried student exhibition. It is a chance for students to both show their artwork and receive scholarship awards for their hard work.

All-State Flute Workshop

UK Associate Professor of Flute Dr. Julie Hobbs and members of the UK Flute Studio are presenting a clinic for high school flutists are preparing for the 2018 All-State Flute Auditions. Group instruction, one -on-one coaching, and optional mock auditions will get students sounding their best. Topics include practice strategies, tone development, mental preparation, and performance anxiety.
