The UK Guitar Ensembles are presenting highlights from their tour to Brazil last summer. Featuring music by the master of new tango, Astor Piazzolla, music by Brazilian composer Sergio Assad, and arrangements of famous works by of Johannes Brahms. 

An Evening of Voice and Guitar Song

The annual voice and guitar recital features a collaboration from students and faculty of both areas. An evening of intimate music that features baroque vocal music to Spanish and Latin-American song. The evening will include student performances as well as some of UK’s voice faculty accompanied by guitar professor Dieter Hennings.

Judicael Perroy

Born in Paris in 1973, Judicaël Perroy began his guitar studies at the Paris Academy of Music at the age of seven with Raymond Gratien. An acknowledged prodigy by the age of eleven, he won numerous prizes culminating with his triumph in October 1997 at the Guitar Foundation of America International Solo Competition, earning him the winner’s tour of the Americas, with over sixty concerts and master classes. He is in great demand as a teacher and adjudicator at numerous international festivals.

Jorge Caballero

A native of Lima, Peru, Jorge Caballero is the youngest musician and the only guitarist to win the Walter W. Naumburg International Competition Award, one of the most prestigious and coveted awards given to performers of any instrument, and comparable to the Pulitzer Prize for musicians. Widely regarded as one of the finest guitarists of his generation, the New York Times called him “a masterful guitarist” and praised his “deft, powerful technique.”

Baby Gramps is an energetic humorously entertaining performer with an endless repertoire. He plays a National Steel guitar, and sings his own unique arrangements of rags, jazz, & blues from the 20's & 30's, and many originals with wordplay, humor, and throat singing. 

According to an article in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, Baby Gramps is acknowledged as one of the top 50 most influential musicians in the last 100 years.
