The School of Art and Visual Studies (SA/VS) is one of the largest programs of its kind in the Southeast. As a SA/VS student you'll create and investigate in open studio spaces with advanced equipment in both traditional and digital media. You'll meet and learn from renowned artists, curators, and critics through our Visiting Artist Series. In addition to strong academic programs and supported maker spaces, we showcase an exhibition schedule of faculty, students, and guest artists' work in the Bolivar Art Gallery.
Arts Administration is the business of managing nonprofit and for-profit arts organizations in order to facilitate day-to-day operations and fulfill the organizational mission. Our program will provide you with a strong liberal arts education, an understanding of the business world, and a comprehensive education in one of the four arts disciplines of art, music, dance, and theatre.
As a music major you'll interact with people at the highest level of educational/professional preparation in nearly all areas; we're the only institution in Kentucky that offers doctoral study in music. You'll have access to a hefty resource library and exceptional faculty. You'll have opportunities to perform with our more than 40 ensembles and get involved with our student groups, from a Korean Percussion Ensemble to the Kentucky chapter of Tau Beta Sigma.
As a theatre student you'll get hands-on training and one-on-one mentorship from professional instructors and guest artists in acting, directing, playwriting, theatrical design, and technology. From mainstage productions to our student-produced shows, you'll have plenty of opportunities to participate on stage or backstage.
In the first dance program of its kind in Kentucky, you'll deep dive into technique, performance, and choreography. Our musical theatre certificate will allow you to craft your own program as a well-rounded triple threat.
