INTERESTS: Nonprofit work, event planning, and dancing
I began dancing at age three, primarily studying ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary. Throughout my many years of dance I have attended Louisville Ballet's summer program, as well as the South East Regional Ballet Association's annual festival. I trained with Appalachian Ballet Company under the direction of Amy Morton Vaughn. I have also had the opportunity to dance the role of Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, Chinese soloist in The Nutcracker, and many other exciting roles at both regional festival and in the annual shows presented by Appalachian Ballet. I found my love for non-profit work when I organized a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity my senior year of high school. I have also had a love for the arts since a young girl, and knew that the Arts Administration program would be a perfect combination between both of my passions. Alongside being a College of Fine Arts Ambassador for a second year, I serve on the Panhellenic Executive Council as Intersorority Chair. I knew instantly that UK was my home, and I am so excited to show prospective students that it can become theirs too.
REASON FOR BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR
Arts Administration is the program that brought me to UK, and without my knowledge of it I have no idea where I would be attending school, or what I would be majoring in. I want to share my passion and love for this program as well as the entire College of Fine Arts. I have been lucky enough to be able to pursue what I love the most and I want to help students see that they have the opportunity to do this as well.
