INTERESTS: Performing theatre, event planning, and local coffee

My name is Ashley and I am a junior with a major in Arts Administration and a minor in Theatre at the University of Kentucky. While in high school, I performed in two musicals per year and was also involved in the Madrigal and A Capella Choirs. I was also the arts representative for the Student Advisory Board and advocated for the arts in my school. Some of my favorite roles were 'Belle' from Beauty and the Beast and 'Madame Thenardier' in Les Miserables. As a 2017 alumnae of the Kentucky Center's Governor School for the Arts (GSA) program, I was able to learn more about Arts Administration and discovered that I wanted to pursue Arts Admin alongside Theatre in college! Since coming to UK, I joined the sorority Alpha Delta Pi my freshman year, and through this sorority, I have met some of my very best friends and am part of such a loving, empowering community of women! I am also involved in the Campus Outreach College Ministry and have been able to grow in my faith alongside some absolutely amazing people. My passion for the arts has only grown since coming to UK and I strive to make a difference in the arts world now and on through my future!

REASON FOR BECOMING AN AMBASSADOR

During my senior year of high school, I had a meeting set up through the UK College of Fine Arts and learned about the arts programs offered and I got to meet with a CFA ambassador and hear about her experience. I had such an amazing, personable time and that made me want to be part of this college even more! After that experience, it made me realize that I want to be part of the reason why someone may choose to continue to pursue the arts beyond high school no matter what their interests may be. I hope to be able to promote and advocate for the arts and be part of the change in making the arts and its importance known to others!
