The program is designed to provide specialization in fundraising and development. All students must have a completed bachelor's degree. Students must be admitted to the UK Graduate School.
All applicants whose native language is not English will be required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. The minimum acceptable TOEFL score is 550 (paper-based) 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5. Submitted scores must be no more than two years old.
Current UK students
If you are currently enrolled at the University of Kentucky in a graduate degree or another certificate program, you will need to create a new account in the UK Graduate School’s ApplyYourself system. Therefore, you will need to use a different email address than the one you used for the program that you are currently enrolled.
Application Process and Deadlines
Applications for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Fundraising and Development are reviewed by the department's Graduate Admissions Committee. The criteria for admission and the materials evaluated in making admission decisions are listed below. Please keep in mind that applicants are evaluated individually and also in terms of the overall quality of the pool of applications.
To apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Fundraising and Development, applications must be submitted to the UK Graduate School. Applications will be accepted for the following academic terms:
Applications are accepted for the Graduate Certificate in Fundraising & Development on a rolling basis for fall, spring, and summer semesters. Applicants will receive a decision letter within two weeks of the submission of all application materials. The final deadlines for admission for the 2020-21 academic year are as follows:
Spring 2021: December 14, 2020
Summer 2021: April 16, 2021
Fall 2021: July 23, 2021
To apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Fundraising and Development, your application should include the following items:
- UK Graduate School Application
- Official transcripts
- A resume (no more than two pages in length) indicating your education, professional and volunteer experience, accomplishments and qualifications for graduate study.
- A statement of purpose (one page, single-spaced) indicating the reasons for your interest in graduate study in Fundraising and Development at UK and what you hope to accomplish with you degree. Please also discuss your personal or professional skills that will aid you in successfully completing classes online.
The GRE is not required for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Fundraising and Development.
The graduate application and materials, including transcripts, should be submitted online to the University of Kentucky Graduate School.
