Michael Braun is an Associate Professor Emeritus in the College of Fine Arts at the University of Kentucky, where he assists with student recruiting, alumni relations and projects related to curriculum development and fundraising. Braun served as the director of the Arts Administration Program from 1994 - 2013, teaching classes, advising students, overseeing practicums and internships, supervising program faculty and staff, developing curriculum, and recruiting students. Prior to his time at UK, he spent almost eight years as the Executive Director of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation in Baltimore, Maryland, and seven years in Minneapolis, Minnesota on the staff of Arts Midwest and one of its predecessor organizations, the Affiliated State Arts Agencies of the Upper Midwest. He has a B.A. in Theatre and a M.A. in Arts Administration from St. Cloud State University, where he also worked as an advisor to the Atwood Board of Governors, the student organization responsible for much of SCSU's arts programming. His professional theatre credits include work with the Mark Taper Forum, Los Angeles Actors Theatre, and the Minneapolis Children's Theatre. He also served on the National Assembly of State Arts Agency board, reviewed grant applications for the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as serving as a consultant to numerous arts-related nonprofit organizations, private foundations and national service organizations
