THRIVING ARTISTS SERIES is comprised of three candid conversations about the internal and external motivations for making art. No matter what medium you use or what your level of success may be, there are still ways to clarify your artistic vision and achieve more visibility.The UK Art Museum can help. Director Stuart Horodner will serve as facilitator for the series.

Lexington, Ky., Why do you make art? Who is it for? How were you trained and what are you influenced by? Are you ambitious? Disillusioned? How does your medium matter? We will discuss a range of clarifying questions about artistic identity.

Lexington, Ky., is a specific place with unique opportunities and challenges.How do these affect what you make and what you think is possible? We will examine the art ecology of the city, including galleries and other exhibition venues, studios spaces, critical feedback and the culture of collecting. (This is not a bitch session.)
