Artist Discussion: Jay Bolotin & The Book of Only Enoch
Join acclaimed interdisciplinary artist Jay Bolotin for a conversation about his current animated film, based on his 2011-2014 print portfolio of 20 woodcut and relief etchings.
The Book of Only Enoch is the story of a sensitive Jewish boy from Kentucky and his journey of self-awareness and spiritual clarity. Created using countless drawings and sets made by the artist, the film possesses the magic realism of Bolotin’s 2019 film, The Silence of Professor Tösla, a collaboration with writer Ilan Stavans, that has won prizes at festivals around the world.
Bolotin discusses the narrative, his working methods, and the stellar cast of voice artists working on the film, with Museum director Stuart Horodner. The completed film, sets, drawings, and ephemera will be exhibited at the UK Art Museum in 2022-23. Special thanks to Dean Mark Shanda and the CFA for their support of this project.
This conversation will take place on Zoom. Please click here to reserve your spot.
