Fine Arts Engagement
The College of Fine Arts makes an impact in our community and beyond through our outreach and engagement programs. Each year the College serves nearly 150,000 people through Schools and Community Activities, more than 20,000 through Exhibitions and more than 100,000 through Public Performances!

Develop your artistic skills and explore your creativity. The Institute offers access to the classrooms and teaching resources of the School of Art and Visual Studies for non-credit community education courses.
The College of Fine Arts, in partnership with the UK College of Agriculture, Food & Environment, is proud to have the nation’s first extension offices in Fine Arts, honoring the ideals of a land-grant university.
UK String Project
Started in 1989, the UK String Project connects UK students with children in Lexington with a love for music.
For more than 20 years the UK School of Music has been offering professional Orff-Schulwerk and general music training for teachers.
The summer dance intensive is offered by the Department of Theatre and Dance for experienced high school and college dance students ages 14 and up. The program develops the abilities of dancers who are serious about the field and eager to enhance their skills.
Classes in Singing-Acting-Dancing, Jazz/Tap/Ballet for the Musical Theatre performer, Acting Classes, Voice Lessons, Costume Design and more. The UK Opera Theatre program offers year-round training for students in grades 1-8, and music and dance classes for high school students.
Kentucky Band Camp
The ultimate camp for technique, leadership and learning - Drum Major Leadership Camp. Our nationally known clinicians and instructors offer a challenging curriculum designed to provide leadership skills and inspire both the new and experienced drum major. Contact: 859-257-BAND.
The UK Steel Band has played for over 5,000 students annually since 1992.
