Lyndy Franklin Smith


Lyndy Franklin Smith grew up in the Lexington area and graduated from Sayre School.  She received a BFA in Performing Arts, emphasis Dance, from Oklahoma City University. She performed on Broadway in the companies of A Chorus Line (Dance Capt.) and The Little Mermaid; Three seasons at Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular (NYC); National Tours of Fosse and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas as well as numerous regional theatre credits including 42nd Street (Peggy Sawyer) and Finian’s Rainbow (Susan).  Television credits include the 2007 Tony Awards and Dancing With The Stars, with the cast of A Chorus Line.  She and her husband, Jeromy, recently directed and choreographed Spring Awakening for UK Theatre.  Other choreography credits include Betty Blue Eyes (American Premiere), 9 to 5, Finian’s Rainbow and Sunset Boulevard for the acclaimed Music Theatre of Wichita; Ragtime at University of Michigan MT Program; and four seasons of It’s a Grand Night for Singing with the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre.  She is sought after across the country as a master teacher and clinician for dance and musical theatre workshops and classes.  Along with teaching for UK Theatre, she is Co-Executive Director and on faculty at Town and Village School of Dance in Paris, Ky., and continues to direct and choreograph regionally.
